Taha Hussein was born in Egypt. At the age of two he got very sick and the illness blinded him. Although, he did not let his disability stop him. He went on to teach Arabic Literature at the University of Cairo, and is remembered as one of the most influential 20th-century Egyptian writers. He is also seen as the head of the Egyptian Renaissance Movement.
