Sui Sin Far was born in England but raised in Canada. She had lived in England, New York, Montreal, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. She is the first author of Chinese descent to publish fiction in North America. Sui Sin Far is actually her pen name, her real name is Edith Maude Eaton.
